The length of the logical try is irrelevant. What matters is showing (proving) the difference. Here, it's a paradoxical reversal of logic. The key move 1. Qf6+ was supposed to be a logical try (choice) 1... Kg6 2. d7 and the capture 2... Qxf6 should be its logical refutation.
