I just solved this study and I like it! However, I don’t find 2. Qb4+ and 2. Qb2+ convincing thematic tries: it is clear that White needs to control the d3 square to prepare checkmate. All fine that the refutations are unique, but they are not interesting. The proper thematic try is 2. Qb5 (idea Qd5 mate, like in the solution) with the idea 2. …Kxe4 3. Qb1+!. Unfortunately, I have the impression that Black has not only 2. …Qxe4+ 3. Kd6 Qa8! (no Qe3+) but also 2. …Qf7!? since Black promotes with check after 3. Qd5+? Qxd5 4. exd5 h3 etc.
I have just moved the black pawn to h5 and then 2. Qb5? is refuted by 2. …Qxe4+! 3. Kd6 and then Qa8, Qf3 or Qg2. I think this is already an advantage. Perhaps somebody can change the configuration such that the refutation on move three is unique, too. (3 points)
