My most paradoxical study. In the solution (1.e7!!), the white king gets as far as it can get (to c8) from the g-pawn but then performs a Réti-manoeuvre to come back. In the chameleon-echo try (1.d7?) the king is closer (on e7), but white still loses. 15.Kh8! instead of 15.Kf8? is just the icing on the "cake". (See also Sackman 1924 and Aliev 2003).
